How we process your data when you apply for a job

We want you to know what happens to the data you send us with your application. Below we explain it in plain language. This notice follows the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679).

Who is the data controller

The controller of your personal data is Maciej Szcześnik, running a sole proprietorship under the name Chef Up Maciej Szcześnik, registered at ul. Henryka Sienkiewicza 39, 07-202 Wyszków, Poland, NIP: 7622027975, REGON: 543939030.

Why and on what basis we process your data

• To run the recruitment for the role you apply for. Data required by law (e.g. name, experience, education) is processed because employment law allows it (Art. 6(1)(c) and Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR together with the Polish Labour Code). If the role concerns a civil-law contract or B2B cooperation, the basis is taking steps before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Data you provide voluntarily (e.g. a photo in your CV, interests, extra information) is processed based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by sending us that information.
• Future recruitments — if you give separate consent, we'll keep your application and reach out when a matching role appears (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Defending against potential claims — to the necessary extent we may process data after the recruitment ends, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep your data

• Until the recruitment for the given role ends, after which we delete it.
• If you agree to future recruitments — for 12 months from your application, or until you withdraw consent.
• If needed to defend against claims — until the limitation period expires.

Who we may share your data with

We do not sell your data. It may only be accessed by entities that help us run the business on our behalf — e.g. an email provider, hosting, a recruitment system or accounting. Each processes data under a contract and only to the extent necessary.

If any of our providers processes data outside the European Economic Area, we only do so with the safeguards required by the GDPR (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission).

Your rights

At any time you have the right to:

• access your data and obtain a copy,
• correct data that is inaccurate,
• erase your data or restrict its processing,
• transfer your data to another controller,
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest,
• withdraw consent at any time — without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal,
• lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland) if you believe we process your data unlawfully.

Is providing data mandatory

Providing data is voluntary, but the data required by employment law is necessary for you to take part in the recruitment. Other information is entirely voluntary and its absence will not affect how we assess your application.

Automated decisions

We do not make fully automated decisions about you and we do not profile you. The decision to invite you to an interview is always made by a person.

You can place the following consents next to the recruitment form (the first is usually mandatory, the second optional):
